I returned to gaming from a many-year hiatus almost a decade ago. The first game I GMed was an urban campaign, and I realized a nearly complete lack of knowledge of presenting a believable medieval city. Expeditious Retreat press provided me the resources to overcome this with their “Magical Medieval Society” series.
Joseph Browning of Expeditious Retreat Press announced on his blog today that he’s offering a 50% off sale of his PDFs at RPGNow. In addition to the Magical Medieval Society series, here are some other products that are in my library (or are about to be!):
World of Nevermore (True20 system, on sale for $7.50): I’ve not played True20 yet, though this game provides the perfect excuse. Co-editor Bryan has expressed interest in running a fantastical horror game chock full of the creatures that go bump in the night, and in addition to looking like a great sourcebook for that, this looks like a compelling system on its own.
Worlds Apart (Traveller system, on sale for $6.00): I covered this a few weeks ago in a links post, and this is a great time to pick up this sourcebook for adapting the Traveller system to high fantasy.
Advanced Adventures #15 – Stonesky Delve (OSRIC, on sale for $3.50): I love the “Advanced Adventures” series enough to consider picking up the discounted bundle pack. Stonesky Delve introduced me to the series, and does an awesome job capturing the old school feel without being burdened by old school baggage.
